I Lost 100 Pounds So That Makes Me Better Than Everyone Else (Kind Of)
The first draft of this blog post made me sound like a real b-word and then I decided that I am a b-word so that’s why my writing would reflect that. Duh. Anyway! I have officially lost 100 pounds and have A LOT of thoughts that I need to overshare online.
Recently, I’ve started tweeting cryptically about the damage that extreme weight loss has caused on my brain/body. These tweets normally perform pretty well, and even though I’m currently in my flop era on Twitter, those likes simply do not feel the same to me. Is this a normal thing to feel? Should I be this attached to a social media site? The answers are no and no, but I digress!
Forgive the tangent, BUT, the moral of the story is when you lose an ass-ton of weight and your appearance dramatically changes, you move through the world as someone new. That felt so dramatic to write but I stand by it. If you have something negative to say about that, you can only say it if you’ve lost over 60 pounds*.
Some physical changes that have occurred include deflated boobs, skinnier feet, and a crazy amount of joint pain. “But doesn’t joint pain go away when you lose a lot of weight?” Yeah… SOMETIMES! If you are a person that’s been blessed with hypermobility, like myself, joint pain can get WORSE after weight loss. Who knew? Not me, until it happened!
“How did you lose the weight?” Thanks for asking! I addressed my relationship with food, which, SPOILER, was an unhealthy one, and I also exercised! That’s really it, a healthier diet, attitude change, and constant planking. The last thing I want to say is that weight loss only happens when it comes from a place of authenticity and you’re really doing it for YOU.
Okay, that’s all for now! Stay tuned for my post bashing Big Keto.
Xoxo,
Amanda
*doesn’t HAVE to be 60 pounds, it counts as long as you look very different
