Why I Think You’re All Gross for NOT Liking Tomato Juice + Bloody Mary Recipe
This is my tomato juice manifesto! Happy Friday, I am BACK. After being on a blog hiatus for several months I remembered that I am paying for this domain and said, “well, MIGHT AS WELL START POSTING, I GUESS!!”
Today, I am sharing my Bloody Mary recipe but before we get into that, in true blogger fashion, I have to tell a personal anecdote to explain my devotion to tomato juice.
When I was a young little babe, I used to go to the Triple Crown Diner (rip) with my grandparents (double rip) and it was there that my grandma introduced me to tomato juice with a squeeze of lemon and changed my whole life. I’ve been hooked on it since I was a toddler. Literally, Bill Clinton was still president so that’s how you KNOW it’s been a long relationship.
Anyway! I think it’s good to jazz up your tomato juice so much so that the people who normally call you GROSS for drinking tomato juice will take a sip and go, “ok, WOW that is NOT bad!” If you’re the type of person to add cheeseburgers/chicken fingers/fried pickles, etc., that’s great! I just don’t have the time for that right now.
What you’ll need:
one bottle (64 oz) tomato juice
2 tablespoons hot sauce (cholula is one of my faves)
2 tablespoons horseradish (idk the brand but I use one that comes in a squeeze bottle)
1 tablespoon pickle juice (you can sub with any kind of salty juice - olives, capers, etc.)
2 tablespoons worcestershire sauce
juice from one lemon
1 tsp garlic powder
vodka (cheap or fancy, doesn’t matter)
It’s time to become a mixologist!
Mix all of the ingredients EXCEPT for the vodka. Pour your tomato juice blend into serving glasses, add 3ish oz of vodka to each, stir well. That’s it! That’s the drink.
I didn’t include any garnishes because I can’t do everything for you people! So, get crazy and use your imagination.
I was going to write “Happy Brunching"!” as my outro to this but that felt a little too cheugy so I’m going to go with something tried and true.
Drink responsibly!
Xoxo,
Amanda
